Mt. Makalu is the fourth highest mountain in the world and it is the 5th tallest mountains in Nepal. It lies in the eastern Himalayan range. It lies in the 19km southeast of the Mt. Everest in the border of Nepal and China. It was first ascent by French expedition team in 1955. After the 1st successful attempt, there were many attempts to climb this mountain. In 1997 the Russian team scaled the west route which is also said to be the dangerous route.

At the altitude of 5,600m, Base camp is set. There are three more camp to reach at the top. The first camp is at 6,100m, Camp 2 is at 6600m, the third camp is at 7200 m and the last camp is at 7600m.

Day 1: Arrival to Kathmandu & Transfer to the Hotel

Day 2: Rest in Kathmandu and briefing about Expedition

Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar and drive to Num (1,560m)

Day 4: Trek from Num to Sheduwa (1,510m). Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 5: Trek from Sheduwa to Tashi Gaun (2,070m): Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 6: Acclimatization at Tashi Gaun (rest day): Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 7: Trek from Tashi Gaun to Khongma (3,760m): Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 8: Trek from Khongma to Mumbuk (3,520m): Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 9: Trek from Mumbuk to Nehe Kharka (4,320m): Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 10: Trek from Nehe Kharka to Makalu Base Camp. Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 11: Acclimatization in Base Camp (rest day). Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 13: Hike from Base camp to High Camp. Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 44: Trek from MaKalu Base Camp to Yangle Kharka. Overnight at tented Camp

Day 45: Trek from Yangle Kharka to Khongma: Camping. Overnight at tented Camp

Day 46: Trek from Khongma to Sheduwa. Overnight at tented Camp

Day 47: Trek from Sheduwa to Num and drive to Khadbari

Day 48: Drive from Khandbari to Tumlingtar and Fly to Kathmandu & Transfer to the Hotel

Day 49: Full day sightseeing tour of Swyambhunath, Boudhnatah and Bhaktapur

Day 50: Transfer to International Airport for final departure

Mt. Makalu Expedition

Day 1: Arrival to Kathmandu & Transfer to the Hotel
Upon arrival in Kathmandu airport you will be welcome by our representative and transfer to your hotel. 
You will be given briefing regarding your trip. Rest of the day is free at your own.

Day 2: Rest in Kathmandu and briefing about Expedition
You will be taken to the tourism division for briefing and the rest of the day is free at your own for preparation of the expedition.

Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar and drive to Num (1560m)
After breakfast, drive to Kathmandu airport for the flight to Tumlingtar and drive to Num

Day 4: Trek from Num to Sheduwa (1510m)
You will descents down through the forest and terraced plots lands which takes you to the Arun Khola.
After corssing the bridge you will again ascent up. Makalu National Park starts from here and we will register our permit.

Day 5: Trek from Sheduwa to Tashi Gaun (2070m)
We will ascend to the Ipsuwa khola on the west and kasuwa khola to the east.
We will cross the hill side through the quiet villages and passed by small paddy farms. We will reach the village Tashi gaun.

Day 6: Acclimatization at Tashi Gaun (rest day)
The whole day is free at your own for the acclimatization.

Day 7: Trek from Tashi Gaun to Khongma (3760m)
We will trek upwards to the Kongma. Kongma is the last stop before crossing the Shipton La and dropping down into the upper sections of the remote Barun Valley.

Day 8: Trek from Khongma to Mumbuk (3520m)
We will climb the summit of Shipton La which takes a few hours to reach.
We will pass through the Keke La at 4512m. Later we will descend to Mumbuk.

Day 9: Trek from Mumbuk to Nehe Kharka (4320m)

Day 10: Trek from Nehe Kharka to Makalu Base Camp

Day 11: Acclimatization in Base Camp (rest day)

Day 49: Full day sightseeing tour of Swyambhunath, Boudhnatah and Bhaktapur
After breakfast, commence on fullday sightseeing of the Swyambhunath, Boudhanatn and Bhaktapur.

Day 50: Transfer to International Airport for final departure
After breakfast, transfer to international airport in time for connecting your flight to your destination.
